This is false. Victorian women *rarely* tightlaced, it was mainly upper class women (since they didnt have to work), and they only did so for special occasions if they tightlaced at all. Your third link goes into it in detail, and is a great breakdown of corsets (historical and modern) in general. Victorian corsets still had all the benefits their predecessors did, and were spectacularly useful for distributing and supporting the weight of several skirts. The only reasons a corset should hurt is if its too tight or is improperly fitted, which is pretty much the same for bras. Tightlacing frequently and waist training are modern practices. The link in question mentions that one of the main causes for discomfort when wearing a corset is overheating, but thats probably due to a lot of cheaper modern corsets being made with polyester and whatnot.
