Context: its kind of a follow-up to my meme yesterday. Both Elijah and Malcolm X (when he was a member of the NOI) were close associates with George Lincoln Rockwell, the founder of the American Nazi Party. That seems completely contradictory towards black rights (because it is), but both Rockwell and the NOI had beliefs rooted in racial separation in an era where it was becoming less and less popular. Also, Richard Butler, founder of the Aryan Nations, claimed that he had ties to the NOI, too.
Racists are a surprisingly diverse group.
