Its a very extreme way to say it, but at this point, the Republican party is openly declaring that you dont deserve a trial, and if you arent carrying your passport you will suffer punishment up to the death penalty, and they can bust into your home without a warrant. And thats aside from social issues like Republicans openly declaring their intent to strip away the right of gay people to get married, and excusing Kirk for saying the Civil Rights Act was a bad thing. Not being into politics doesnt mean you dont want to talk about foreign policy, tax policy, or who maintains national parks. Right now, not paying attention to or brushing off politics means you just plain dont give a shit about the people around you.
