Funnily enough, there was a similar debate in the catholic church about the year 33 (Jesus Christ redeemed humanity) because while he redeemed past, present and future humankind, the question was but where did the guy that died in 32 go?. Especially since there are a few saints (like saint John Baptist) that died before 33. Thats where the concept of the state of limbo comes from, although I dont remember if its a canon thing or a common misconception.
