Context; Soviets took away crown from polish coat of arms in 1956 and in 1991 they were dead. Coincidence? I think not. Crown was restored in 1989 and its loss was an ultimate symbol of Polands enslavement and Soviet domination. Plus, crown doesnt indicate monarchy in Poland, the state has been called Rzeczpospolita(Commonwealth/Republic) since 1358 till today as Rzeczpospolita Polska and in between Poland was a Monarchy/Oligarchykindof/Democracy. edit: This year Poland marks 1000 years anniversary of Bolesław the Brave coronation and Poland becoming the kingdom. And becoming a kingdom in middle ages was like joining the European Union today, or recognition of independence/statehood. Btw, Poland 1000 years ago had almost [identical borders](https://pl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polska_wczesnopiastowska#/media/Plik:Duchy_of_Poland_1000.svg) as today. edit2 To understand the magnitude of that situation you need to know that Polish White Eagle emblem kept the crown even after partitions - Poland didnt exist on the map and white eagle still had the crown. In 1815 emblem of [Grand Duchy of Poznań](https://pl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wielkie_Ksi%C4%99stwo_Pozna%C5%84skie#/media/Plik:Grand_Coat_of_Arms_of_Grand_Duchy_of_Pozna%C5%84.svg) (Prussia), emblem of [Congress Poland](https://pl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kr%C3%B3lestwo_Polskie_(kongresowe)#/media/Plik:%D0%93%D0%B5%D1%80%D0%B1_%D1%86%D0%B0%D1%80%D1%81%D1%82%D0%B2%D0%B0_%D0%9F%D0%BE%D0%BB%D1%8C%D1%81%D0%BA%D0%BE%D0%B3%D0%BE.svg) (Russia) and [Free City of Kraków ](https://pl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wolne_Miasto_Krak%C3%B3w#/media/Plik:Coat_of_arms_of_the_Free_City_of_Cracow.svg)(Austria). Emblem of Galicia has a [Jackdaw](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kingdom_of_Galicia_and_Lodomeria#/media/File:Coat_of_arms_of_the_Kingdom_of_Galicia_and_Lodomeria.svg) its Ukrainian bird, symbol of land of Halich/Halych. Later after Polish risings occupiers dismantled all of the forementioned entities and begun to Germanize/Russify Polish culture.

It’s our CoA, piss off - the Polish response, probably.

It’s like a flex on the new republics who don’t understand history
