Not weirder than the Brazilian Integralists, who promoted miscegenation as a means to create our own perfect race.

The National Socialist party was a 1930’s party used by the former president and leader of the Philippine Revolution Emilio Aguinaldo and his running mate Raymundo Melliza for the 1935 Philippine Presidential Election against the Nacionalista Party under Manuel Quezon and his running mate Sergio Osemena. And a coalition it was, the party was home to several other notably radical parties. Many are far left parties including the Sakdalista under Jose Timog, Radical Party under Alfonso Mendoza, Laborista Party under Pablo Manlapit, Partido Komunista under Pedro Abad Santos (ironically his protege would lead a new communist rebellion which would kill Manuel Quezon’s son) with the possible exception of the Fascist Party under Miguel Cornejo. The party dissolved nearly a year later after both Aguinaldo and Melliza lost to Quezon and Osmena of the Nacionalista Party. But yeah for 6 years leading up to the 1935 election, the first president of the country was running for a party of mostly far left parties and a fascist one while the US (who was still managing the country as its colony) just watched.

Meanwhile the unfortunately named Chinese National Socialist Party were just, like, social democrats
