Reminds me of a story my great-grandma told me once, where apparently a Croatian (Yugoslavian likely?) PoW got sent to her village to help on the farms. Apparently young Dragan was a dashing lad, and legends tell the young woman - amongst those my great-grandma - would cherish him for a long while, keeping the little gifts he gave them well hidden. Been asked if I was croatian by a few Serbian buddies of mine once. I wonder why.
