I always hate seeing this post. It’s an overcorrection of people romanticizing the old days by saying “Erm aktchually, everyone was miserable and were all massive hypocrites. No one was virtuous and everything sucked.” It’s so incredibly disingenuous and lacking in any sort of nuance that it wraps around to be the same level of propaganda that people who salivate over that time period put out.
