Yeah, I remember seeing this in The Death of Stalin. I was confused at first, but then did some additional research, and found out that Stalin was apparently a big fan of Western movies. It’s one of those weird, niche facts about dictators which just doesn’t really fit with their typical depiction, like Kim Jong-Il being a huge movie fan, wanting to be a movie director IIRC before succeeding his father as the head of state.
