I still laugh they say there is a war on Christmas but you walk into most stores in the US and they are playing Christmas music. And this has been the cases forever.
The ***real*** War on Christmas is the fact that you are more likely to have trouble affording a merry Christmas than you are to meet someone trying to stop you from saying it.
Went to a store the other day. Actual exchange happened with boomer proprietor (only other person in the store): Me: “Okay, have a nice day.” [leaving] Boomer: “Happy Holidays. Can’t say ‘Merry Christmas,’ anymore.” Me: “Sure you can.” Boomer: “No, people get upset.” Me: “…You just said it.” For the record, I’m Christian. I celebrate Christmas. Nobody was offended. He just wanted someone to be. Something’s wrong with people.
