William Boyd was a successful actor in the 20s. In 1931 an actor with his same name was caught doing crime but the newspapers used the innocent Boyds picture. This ruined his reputation and caused him to be black listed from Hollywood. Luckily the story wasnt all doom and gloom when he hopped on a chance to ride B movie fame and become the first man to be put on a merchandised lunch box and have a poem dedicated to him on the American pie album.
